B5.3 Municipal building solar *
Install solar photovoltaics on all available municipal sites, including building rooftops, city hall, schools, police/fire, community centers, municipal water pump sites, and transit depots.
Olympia –
There’s currently solar on the roofs of Olympia’s City Hall, the Olympia Timberland Library, the Farmers’ Market, the Thurston County Food Bank, and a warehouse at the Port’s Marine Terminal. Olympia Community Solar is now seeking community members to participate in its 100kW solar project on the roof of the Hands On Children’s Museum.
Tumwater –
The city used a $20,000 grant from PSE’s 2013 green power challenge to help leverage a $219,044 solar grant from the state, and installed a 20 kW array on the City Hall campus.
