Food

The emissions associated with the food we eat are not included in the current Climate Plan’s inventory or targets, except for on-road emissions inside the county from transporting it and emissions from livestock inside the county. According to the Union of Concerned Scientists’ Cooler Smarter: Practical Steps for Low-Carbon Living
they’re roughly 14% of an average American household’s carbon footprint. The New York Times has a nice interactive page answering a wide range of questions about how to reduce the climate impacts of the way you eat.

F1 – Plant rich diet

F2 – Reduce food waste

F3 – Local food

F4 – Reduce food packaging
