The State Department of Education runs a Safe Routes to School program, and North Thurston High got a a Safe Routes to School grant program through OSPI.
Intercity Transit’s Walk N Roll Program partners with schools and community organizations to offer activities that educate and encourage youth to walk, bike and take the bus.
The Olympia School District has some October events for Walk to School Month this year.
Tumwater Middle School has an Earn A Bike program, and at least some of the schools have Safe Route to School maps. The North Thurston District also has interactive walking maps.
