T4.2 Bus rapid transit
Expand rapid transit (ex. add transit only lanes in UGA or add express bus connections between three South Sound cities), then develop funding mechanisms.
Intercity Transit just launched a somewhat more rapid free bus route running between the Capital Mall and the Martin Way Park & Ride. (It’s a four year $4.5 million Bus Rapid Transit Lite demonstration project.) It will run every fifteen minutes, only during the morning and evening peak periods, and will cut the time for the whole run by slightly more than half (partly because it will eliminate the transfer downtown that’s required to make that particular trip now.)
