Support teleworking options.
In 2016 Governor Inslee issued an executive order for state agencies to increase participation in telework from 8.8 percent in 2015 to 9 percent in 2017, to increase flexible work hours from 21.2 percent in 2014 to 40 percent in 2017, and to report regularly on their progress.
A 2013 study, “The Bottom Line on Telework for the Thurston Region State and Local Government”, concluded that teleworking twice a week by the region’s public workforce would save approximately $58 million per year and eliminate over a million vehicle trips a year, avoiding 14 million miles a year of driving.
