A4.2 Conservation easements
Identify or develop local funding sources for agricultural and forestry conservation easements. This could include creating a system for bundling small monetary contributions to invest in collective conservation easement or land purchases.
Since 1987, the Capitol Land Trust has conserved 77 properties, over 6,000 acres and more than 15 miles of Puget Sound shoreline.
The Nisqually Land Trust preserves land in the river’s entire watershed, including some property in the county.
