Organize and facilitate roundtables with business leaders focused on clean economy strategies.
ICLEI’s Green Business Challenge program provides a guidebook for this “friendly competition to engage commercial property managers, office tenants, and other business sectors to improve energy efficiency, conserve water, reduce waste, and involve their employees in a concerted effort to improve the environmental performance of their businesses.” Bellevue started its program with a grant; Redmond has one too.
The San Juan Citizens’ Alliance sponsors the Green Business Roundtable in Durango, CO, “one of the most innovative and successful lunchtime networking events in Durango. Routinely attended by over 90 business leaders, elected officials, and influential community members, GBR inspires innovative discussions on timely issues affecting our region.”
The Boston Green Ribbon Commission is a group of business, institutional, and civic leaders in Boston working to develop shared strategies for fighting climate change in coordination with the City’s Climate Action Plan.
In Washington, DC. there’s an ongoing Green Business Roundtable organized by a business consultant who gets other organizations to sponsor the speakers for events.
The Stuart School of Business at the Illinois Institute of Technology runs an annual Green Business Roundtable conference on some topic about business sustainability.
