Create and support competitive grants for neighborhood clean energy and energy efficiency projects.
The Cleveland Climate Action Fund has used tax-deductible contributions to a donor advised fund (along with a page for calculating the carbon offsets from a donation) to provide grants to and complete 70 resident-led, neighborhood-based projects, with total support exceeding $170,000.
In Our Backyard’s website supports crowdfunding for neighborhood sustainability projects. Though there are a lot of projects that don’t seem to have raised much of anything, some have apparently been pretty successful.
